These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of WhiteBoardAI. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Please read these terms with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

1. Acceptance and Services

WhiteBoardAI provides AI-assisted learning and exam preparation, including AI topic learning, Socrative step-by-step support, Notes, and Subject Workspace features.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
  • You must provide accurate registration details.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials and activity.
  • You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized account use.

3. Recording and Upload Policy

  • You must comply with school, college, coaching center, university, workplace, and instructor policies when recording, uploading, or sharing educational content.
  • You must not upload recordings, screenshots, transcripts, or other materials that violate copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or institutional policies.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring your uploads are lawful and properly authorized.

4. Notes Feature Terms (Images and Screenshots)

  • You may upload personal notes, handwritten pages, and screenshots for individual study support.
  • Do not upload content containing personal data of other people unless you are legally authorized to do so.
  • Notes uploads are treated as private to your account by default and processed for OCR and AI assistance.

5. Workspace Feature Terms (PDF Materials)

  • Workspace is for your personal learning workflows and not for unauthorized content distribution.
  • Uploaded Workspace PDFs are private by default and are not made available to other users by us, except where needed for service operations, legal compliance, or features you explicitly use.
  • You must upload only PDFs and study materials you own or are authorized to use.
  • You must not upload pirated, infringing, or institution-restricted study materials.

6. User Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of your uploaded content. You grant WhiteBoardAI a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to host, store, process, transform, and display such content only as required to operate, secure, and improve the services.

7. Platform License and Use Limits

Subject to compliance with these terms, WhiteBoardAI grants you a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the service for non-commercial educational purposes.

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, data-mine, reverse engineer, or automate extraction of platform content without written permission.
  • Share paid access credentials with other users.
  • Bypass technical restrictions, usage limits, or access controls.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for unlawful, abusive, or deceptive activities.
  • Upload malware, spam, harmful code, or infringing content.
  • Violate intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality rights.
  • Use the service in violation of the Information Technology Act, 2000, applicable criminal law, or enforceable institutional policy.

If you believe content on WhiteBoardAI infringes your rights, contact support@whiteboardai.com with:

  • Your contact details and proof of ownership/authorization.
  • Description of the original work and disputed material.
  • Location of the material in the service.
  • A statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.

We may remove or disable access to disputed material, investigate repeat violations, and suspend accounts where appropriate.

10. Academic Integrity and Honor Code

WhiteBoardAI is designed to support learning, not cheating. You must not use the service to plagiarize, generate unauthorized exam answers, distribute confidential assessments, or engage in academic misconduct.

11. Billing, Refunds, Returns, and Cancellation

  • Paid plans, usage limits, and taxes (including GST where applicable) are shown at checkout or billing pages.
  • Services are delivered digitally; access is generally provisioned after successful payment confirmation.
  • Refund requests are handled under applicable law and our refund policy, including technical-failure review where relevant.
  • Subscription cancellations stop future renewals; access typically continues until the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise stated.

12. AI and OCR Disclaimer

AI-generated responses may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. WhiteBoardAI does not guarantee perfect accuracy, and the service is not a substitute for professional academic, legal, medical, or financial advice.

OCR extraction quality depends on source quality, handwriting clarity, scan resolution, and language complexity.

13. Availability, Suspension, and Termination

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features to improve reliability, security, and performance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, repeated infringement complaints, security threats, fraudulent behavior, or legal requirements.

14. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WhiteBoardAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or similar damages.

Our aggregate liability for paid services is limited to the amount paid by you for the service in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WhiteBoardAI from claims, losses, liabilities, and costs arising out of your misuse of the service, unauthorized uploads, or violation of these terms or applicable law.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory consumer protection law, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts at the location of WhiteBoardAI's registered office in India.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
